Glasgow University
The University of Glasgow is one of the world’s leading universities set within the leafy suburbs of Glasgow’s West end. The grounds contain a number of specimen trees which add to the stunning character and picturesque setting. In fact the Universities coat of arms contain ‘The tree that never grew’ dating back to the legend of St Mungo.
Ayrshire Tree Surgeons are privileged to have been entrusted with a number of projects involving the routine maintenance and management of the vast tree stock, ensuring the beauty of the landscape and the safety of visitors are preserved for years to come.
As well as planned works we have undertaken a number of emergency jobs removing dead and dangerous trees. At the Garscube site we used a crane to safely remove a dangerous beech tree on a steep embankment where access was limited due to the ground conditions.
